About the Exhibition
The Intersecting Worlds of Art, African History, Storytelling, Culture, and the Mangroves is a multidisciplinary project that merges art, heritage, and environmental advocacy to tell authentic African stories. Rooted in the rich traditions of African storytelling and artistic expression, this initiative seeks to explore the beauty, history, and cultural significance of mangroves while raising awareness about their rapid degradation due to climate change and human activity.
Inspired by a deep personal connection to the Ìtsẹ̀kírì heritage of the Niger Delta, Nigeria, this project is a creative and urgent call to action. Through visual art, literature, and immersive storytelling, we aim to showcase the resilience of mangrove ecosystems, their ecological importance, and the need for preservation. At its heart, this initiative is more than an artistic exploration—it is a movement for cultural preservation, environmental sustainability, and the protection of a natural world that defines our identity. By blending history, culture, and environmental activism, we invite audiences to experience the delicate balance between nature and humanity and inspire collective efforts toward safeguarding our planet.
